Eight years after being named executive chairman of the company, Weston family scion Galen G. Weston was named president of Loblaw Cos. Ltd., the grocery retailer his family transformed from a struggling Ontario-based operation in the 1970s into Canada’s biggest supermarket and pharmacy chain.
